The first painting I ever bought..had for about 20+ years and ready to pass it on t0 a good home / 20” x 16” / Signed Josephson
20” tall x 8” wide at base / Heavy solid metal body / Incredible quality on this lamp reminiscent of Paul Evans’ work / Shade not included
16” x 13” x 8” / This is an authentic mid‑century Mexican food‑industry shipping crate — a true commercial artifact from Mexico’s industrial era, not a reproduction or décor piece. It was used by Centro Mercantil de Monterrey S.A. and Vicente Clemente Jacques Cía S.A., part of the historic Clemente Jacques food‑distribution network, one of Mexico’s oldest and most recognized food brands. Crates like this moved real goods through Mexico’s supply chain, and very few survive with original paint and legible stenciling.
The construction tells its age: period‑correct nails, hand‑cut joints, and a slip‑top removable lid — a design used before hinged hardware became standard. The original red paint with diagonal stripe remains visible, along with factory‑applied stenciling on the underside. The patina is genuine, earned through decades of commercial use.
Best lamp I’ve come across in at least a decade / Incredible craftmanship and artistry / Great mix of metals and surfaces / 30” tall x 20” (at widest) / Professionally re-wired / 1920’s / Sourced in Germany / OOAK
